Transmission Overhaul and Replacement
Keeping Cars Safe
We offer many options for your transmission needs. The first thing to do if you have a transmission slip, shutter or shifting problem is to bring it in for us to run a computer diagnostic and test drive. The reality is that the transmission will not get better on its own. It will definitely not fix itself.
Often times we can repair your transmission in the vehicle. The sooner you bring it in for service when a condition exists can substantially reduce the cost of repair. If the transmission must come out there are several options. These options include rebuilding, repairing and replacement with a re-manufactured unit. We can also install used transmissions but that has its issues that have to be weighed by each customers situation. The end result is that we want your car to be fixed right and get you back on the road.
Transmissions are very complex operating units with many seals, gaskets & moving parts. They also utilize electrical solenoids & harnesses to control shifting and line pressures.
Proper fluids must be used when performing maintenance or repairs on transmissions. Many Quick change shops use friction modifiers to make one type of fluid work for different applications than what they were designed for. This can result in transmission shutter, double shifts or transmission failure. It is very important to use the manufactures specified fluids in your car, Hondas, Toyotas, BMW, Mercedes Benz, Infinity, Nissan, Acura, Lexus, and Mitsubishi are especially sensitive to this problem.
